In simple terms, acne is a skin condition that causes a variety of different spots or pimples. These often become red, swollen and inflamed, and can be very stubborn and difficult to get rid of in extreme cases.

Acne occurs when pores become blocked with substances like bacteria, oil, or dead skin. However, hormones are proven to be a severe acne trigger – hence why teenagers undergoing puberty and pregnant women are often more prone. It’s estimated around 80% of teenagers develop acne in some form.

Whilst acne isn’t dangerous, it can be painful and cause emotional distress. Severe cases of acne can also result in scarring, emphasising the need for treatment earlier rather than later to reduce the risk of this happening.

Here at Hilton Skin Clinics, we offer a variety of different acne treatments specifically designed to reduce and eliminate acne with consistent use. Everyone’s skin is different, hence why we offer treatments of varying strength suitable for a range of acne severities.

Skin & Chemical Peels

This procedure works deep within the skin to stimulate the production of elastin and collagen, encouraging significant cell renewal.

Dead skin cells and other pore blockages are removed and replaced with fresh, rejuvenated new skin. This improves both the tone and texture of your skin over time, and can be combined with other treatments if necessary.

ClearSkin Laser Treatment

Part of the innovative Harmony XL Pro, the ClearSkin laser combines laser light treatment with cooling and vacuum technology.

Capable of reaching deep into the skin, the laser’s heat targets oil-producing glands and destroys acne-causing bacteria. The vacuum will then extract any excess material that has built up within pores, and the cooling mechanism protects the skin’s surface from damage or pain.

ClearSkin can also be used to treat acne scarring too, as the targeted laser stimulates collagen production. It’s suitable for all skin types and can be used on both the face and other acne-prone areas of the body.

LED Phototherapy

Using the state-of-the-art Dermalux LED Phototherapy System, LED phototherapy uses different wavelengths of light to treat skin complaints.

Blue light harnesses powerful anti-bacterial properties, and has been clinically proven to kill acne-causing bacteria. Red light can also be used during this treatment, promoting a healing response and reducing scarring.

All of our acne treatments here at Hilton Skin Clinics are pain-free.

If receiving a skin or chemical peel, you may experience slight skin sensitivity afterwards. To avoid any further irritation, we recommend avoiding exfoliation at least 48 hours after treatment.

LED phototherapy and ClearSkin Laser procedures may result in an instantly-noticeable difference in your skin’s appearance. However, a course of treatments over a period of weeks may be required to achieve your desired result.
