Laser hair removal offers a safe alternative to waxing, shaving or epilation to get rid of unwanted hair.
Here at Hilton Skin Clinics, we use the latest-generation Soprano ICE Platinum to administer laser hair removal to clients. Effortlessly advanced and cutting-edge, this technology offers three different wavelengths of light to provide a tailored, specified treatment to produce the best possible hair reduction results for you.
How Does It Work?
In simple terms, laser hair removal works by focusing an intense beam of light to the treatment area.
This light will reach the hair follicles, where pigment in the hair absorbs it. This absorption damages the follicle and prevents further hair growth, providing a successful, unobtrusive solution to removing hair.
The rate of hair growth decreases the more treatments you have. But, to achieve maximum effect, the hair must be in the correct part of its ‘growth cycle’, meaning a course of multiple treatments will be needed to stunt hair growth all over the selected treatment area.
Laser hair removal can be used on a variety of areas on the body, including:
Suitable for Everyone?
Typically, laser hair removal is considered to be most effective on those with pale skin and dark hair. This is because the hair pigment dramatically contrasts with skin colour, resulting in a higher rate of light absorption.
But, due to the range of wavelengths available with the Soprano ICE Platinum, laser hair removal here with us is equally effective on lighter hair colours and darker, more tanned skin.

Treatment usually takes less than an hour, but this obviously depends on which areas are being treated.
Before arriving, it’s essential to shave your chosen treatment area to prepare your skin – if there’s still hair present on the surface of the skin, it’s this hair that will absorb the light instead of hair follicles, rendering the treatment ineffective. Waxing, hair removal creams or epilation should not be used to prepare your skin for laser hair removal.
Before the procedure begins, skin will be cleansed. Treatment is virtually painless, but you may feel slight flashes of warmth as the laser is fired. Outer layers of skin won’t be damaged or affected by this treatment.
As mentioned, hair must be treated at the exact correct point of its growth cycle to ensure maximum effect, meaning further treatments every 4-6 weeks will be needed.
You’ll be advised by your practitioner to stay away from sun exposure when undergoing a course of laser hair removal. Skin may be slightly red or sensitive after treatment, but this will settle within 24-48 hours.
The clinic is always spotless and has a warm inviting atmosphere. Staff members are extremely knowledgeable about all of their treatments, and they even took the time to speak to me over the phone relating to questions about my treatment before I even booked a consultation. 5 star clinic and would highly recommend to anyoneBarbara Sopata
I have had 4 treatments here for laser hair removal. The staff are extremely friendly and the product knowledge is excellent. The Treatment itself, well what can I say except… Pain FREE and after the first patch test, I noticed a significant reduction of hair.S. Iqbal
The Soprano Laser Hair removal is a virtually pain-free treatment and I am very impressed with the results so far and I am only half way through my course. Looking forward to the final results!Rizwana Ali
The staff are friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. When I arrived everything was explained to me and it was better than I had originally expected. I can’t wait for the next session of microdermabrasion!! I would now recommend them to my friends too.Kate Monterian
The clinic really give you good advice in how to look after your skin and didn’t seem too pushy when selling what I needed. I ended having the EDS Dermaroller for my face and neck. I was so worried it would be so painful but surprisingly it's not that bad at all but I did have some anaesthetic cream applied before hand.Jul K
